Ed Bialek
Head Golf Professional

Ed Bialek has been the PGA Head Golf Professional at Oak Ridge Country Club since 2010. He has over 22 years of experience as a head golf professional in the private club industry.

Throughout his career Ed has served on numerous committees with the PGA. He was president of his chapter, education and tournament chairman for the Michigan Section as well as serving on the sections long range planning committee.

He has also received recognition from his peers for his expertise in merchandising, furthering the education of fellow PGA Professionals and dedication to junior golf. In 2008, he was recognized by Titleist for being one of the top 100 club professionals in the country.

Ed is a native of Grand Rapids Michigan and is married with two sons.

Ed played his college golf at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has had a long established playing career as a professional competing in sectional and national tournaments.


 
Mike Marshall
Assistant Golf Professional

Mike started at Oak Ridge Country Club in 2010. After having spent most of his golf career in Southern California he is happy to be having such a wonderful experience in Minnesota. Mike attended Bethel University and St. Scholastica. He is currently enrolled in the PGM program through the PGA of America. Mike has strong desires to become a Head Golf Professional.

Mike, a native of Duluth MN, has enjoyed being a lot closer to his family and friends. His prior work includes positions at Carmel Mountain Ranch CC in Poway, CA and La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA. Mike finished second in the San Diego section in 2008 and was a member of the North South Cup Matches. Mike loves playing competitively and continues to work hard at the game to improve.


 
David Branstad
Teaching Golf Professional

Prior to graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Speech and Marketing, David played two years of collegiate golf at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato highlighted by two National Championship appearances. After turning professional in 2000 David spent his time learning the golf business at Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul, followed by experiences at Rochester Golf & Country Club, We-Ko-Pa Golf Club in Fountain Hills, AZ and has now been the Teaching Professional at Oak Ridge since 2006.

Throughout his career David developed a real passion for teaching. David has been successful developing, teaching and coaching all levels of golfers and forms lasting relationships with all of his students. He also coaches the Hopkins Boys Varsity Golf Team. David is a PGA Member, US Kids Top 50 Teacher and a TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and a Member of the PGA’s President’s Council.

David has sought knowledge from some of the industry’s top instructors and is constantly working to improve his instruction and use of technology. Through collaboration, knowledge, education and passion David will help you play better golf while you learn more about your golf game. He will fix and work on physical limitations and strengths and focus on the short game so you play better golf for longer.


 
Katie Clark
Golf Shop Buyer

Katie has been at Oak Ridge Country Club since 2013. She grew up in nearby Minnetonka and is a graduate of Hopkins High School. Katie grew up playing sports (Softball & Volleyball) and took up the game of golf later on.

Katie brings a large passion for merchandising as well as a dedication to providing first-class service. As the merchandiser/buyer for 8 years at The Sanctuary Golf Club on Sanibel Island, FL, Katie was instrumental in the golf shop there earning a Platinum Club rating, also earning recognition from Boardroom Magazine, as well as being named one of the 2011 Golf Digest Top 100 Golf Shops. Katie brings her award-winning standards of service and excellence, her effective organizational and personal skills, and her unparalleled passion for merchandising to the golf shop, staff, and most importantly, the members and guests of Oak Ridge Country Club.
 


 
Jake Barnard
Assistant Golf Professional & Caddie Master

Jake Barnard has been with Oak Ridge Country Club since 2017. Previously, he had four internships at clubs around the country. His first summer learning the golf industry was spent at Spring Hill Golf Club in Wayzata, MN in 2013. He spent his next summer in the Appalachian Mountains at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, NC. His first experience in a golf shop was spent at the Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, WY. His last internship was spent helping the golf staff at the Country Club of Lincoln for the 2016 season in Nebraska. 
 
Jake was born and raised in Edina, MN and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While studying the Professional Golf Management program, he became a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. 
 


Zach Tollefson
​Assitant Golf Professional
Zach is working in his fifth season with Oak Ridge. After starting in the bag room, Zach quickly worked his way into the Golf Shop, where he has been now for his last four seasons. Zach has been helping the Junior golfers at Oak Ridge for the past six seasons.  Zach has had a passion for golf since a young age after being taught how to play by his father. Zach works as a teacher during the winter, teaching high school science to students with special needs in the north east metro.  Zach is happily married to his wife Sarah and will be celebrating their third anniversary this August. Zach is happy to be back during the summer to help the membership at Oak Ridge Golf Staff

Superintendent

Todd joined the Oak Ridge team in April 2016 as our Golf Course Superintendent.  He comes to Oak Ridge with over 15 years of providing championship conditions to some of the most exclusive country clubs in the United States. Todd's unyielding dedication to his craft is evident in the product and crew he brings to the club.

Originally from South Dakota, Todd has been all around the United States working on golf courses. He earned his degree in Turfgrass Management at Iowa State University.  After finishing his schooling, Todd headed out to Oakland Hills Country Club where he was an integral part of preparing for and hosting the 2004 Ryder Cup.  He has also been at Glen Arbor Golf Club in New York where he was exposed to several in depth golf course construction and renovation projects.  Along with several other prestigious private clubs in this area, most recently Todd was at Windsong Farm Golf Club. Over his 4 years there, he oversaw and completed several major course and property improvement projects, along with providing the membership with world class playing conditions.

Todd is extremely excited and passionate for the opportunity to continue the excellence here at Oak Ridge. You will see Todd working hard with the crew daily and also see him and his best friend Maggie scouting the course for geese and anything else that needs attention.

Assistant Superintendent

Justin joined the Oak Ridge team in April 2016 as the Lead Assistant Superintendent.  He comes to Oak Ridge with over 17 years of experience managing turf at high end golf clubs around the country.

Justin was very young when he was first exposed to the golf industry, starting out as a caddy at Golden Valley Golf and Country Club when he was 9.  He then found his passion for growing grass while working in Tucson, Arizona.  He has also spent time in the mountains around Lake Tahoe and numerous other elite clubs in our surrounding area.

Justin earned his turfgrass degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005, and still views everyday on the golf course as a learning opportunity to better himself both professionally and personally. He takes pride in the team and product we are putting out there for the membership.  His main focus is to help create the best playing conditions day in and day out, while also promoting a strong healthy stand of grass.

Chances are when you see Justin on the course, he will be with his #1 sidekick Buddy.

Assistant Superintendent
Cole came to Oak Ridge with over 12 years of golf course knowledge and experience, 9 of those years serving as either Intern or Assistant Superintendent at top 100 golf courses around the country.  More recently Cole was the Golf Course Superintendent at Pioneer Creek in Maple Plain MN and Site Supervisor with Duininck Golf.

Cole’s educational background consists of an Associate of Arts Degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a degree in Turfgrass Science from Pennsylvania State University.  Cole is extremely talented and is eager to continue his career at Oak Ridge Country Club.

James graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's of business administration from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He worked in the financial sector for six years before deciding to return to school to pursue a degree in turf management. He graduated from Anoka Technical College in 2014. He was an intern at Windsong Farm Golf Club before becoming the third assistant. James started at Oak Ridge in 2016 and is excited to continue grow professionally in his new chosen field

       
Maggie & Buddy
Golf Course Dogs
Buddy and Maggie started at Oak Ridge in April 2016 with their two best friends Justin and Todd.

Buddy has extensive knowledge of golf course surveying and pest management.  The only things Buddy loves more in life than chasing geese and squirrels are a sunny spot to lay in and holding hands while being pet.

Maggie holds true to her herding dog roots and loves to try and round up Buddy, the crew and especially Todd's cart. Theres no doubt you will see Maggie chasing the geese on the course, and you will also find that she loves people and will be looking for any kind of attention she can get around the clubhouse.
